Insurance & Accounts
South Eastern Private Hospital has agreements in place with major health insurance funds.
Private Health Insurance
We will verify your insurance prior to your admission.
You may find that your health fund does not fully cover your stay and that an out of pocket balance may occur. Estimated out of pocket expenses are payable on admission. We accept all credit cards for payment of accounts. You are not required to pay the portion of your account that is covered by your health fund as we will claim benefits on your behalf.
Self-insured patients are required to pay the estimated hospital account on admission.
Department of Veterans' Affairs
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) patients will have their account sent directly to the DVA for payment. DVA patients are responsible for calls made to mobile, long distance (STD) and international (ISD) numbers. Local calls are free.
See DVA for information about services at South Eastern Private Hospital for DVA patients.
Workers Compensation patients need to make arrangements to have their claim approved prior to admission.
After you leave hospital, you may receive bills for other charges incurred during your stay that are not the responsibility of the hospital. They are therefore charged separately, and may include fees relating to:
- Your treating doctor
- Allied health
- Telephone calls to mobile, long distance (STD) and international (ISD) numbers
- Emergency Department attendance. For example, if you received treatment in the Emergency Department at The Valley Private Hospital prior to your admission, you’ll receive a separate account for the doctor's consultation and treatment fees plus a $95 facility fee. The Emergency Department is owned and operated by Quest Emergency Services Team Pty. Ltd.
